2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Mentorise. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will close their account and delete their data.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@mentorise.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may only hold one account. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Your content
Ownership
You retain ownership of all content you upload, including your CV, answers to profile questions, and supplementary Q&A. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you upload.
Licence to Mentorise
By uploading content, you grant Mentorise a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you and other users. This licence ends when you delete your account.
Public profile
Your career profile — including your answers to career questions — is visible to other registered Mentorise users. You can control which topics are excluded from your public profile using the Privacy Exclusions setting. You can also hide your profile entirely at any time via your settings.
5. AI-generated content
Important: Mentorise uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4o-mini) to generate questions, profile summaries, and answers on your behalf. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not fully representative of your experience. You should review and correct your profile before making it public. Mentorise accepts no liability for decisions made by third parties based on AI-generated profile content.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your professional background
- Use Mentorise for spam, harassment, or any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without permission
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from Mentorise
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the platform or its AI systems
- Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
- Embed instructions in your CV or answers intended to manipulate the AI ("prompt injection")
7. Conversations and mentorship
When other users ask questions about your profile, those questions and the AI-generated answers are logged and associated with both parties. You acknowledge that your profile, once published, may be queried by any registered user of the platform.
Mentorise does not facilitate direct human-to-human contact. All interactions with profiles are mediated through the AI system. Mentorise is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of any advice or information surfaced through the platform.
8. Email communications
By providing your email address, you consent to receiving transactional emails (such as PIN reset links) from us. If you opt in, you will also receive a weekly digest summarising engagement with your profile. You may opt out of the digest at any time via your account settings.
9. Intellectual property
All rights in the Mentorise platform, including its software, design, branding, and AI systems, are owned by or licensed to Mentorise. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in our intellectual property beyond what is needed to use the service.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Mentorise is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, reliability, or fitness of the service for any particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mentorise shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of income, or decisions made based on profile content.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed £100.
11. Termination
You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing hello@mentorise.co.uk. We will delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice on the platform. Continued use of Mentorise after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
